Rules and Conditions of Bulban Lodge
Bulban Lodge, its owners and managers shall not be liable for any damage or loss caused to any person, property or things whatsoever, even though such loss may result from negligence of Bulban Lodge. Riding on Bulban Lodge is at the riders own risk, Bulban Lodge, its owners and managers shall not be liable for any injuries caused to agistees while riding on Bulban Lodge.
- Riders must wear helmets / hard hats (must comply with ASNZS3838/03);
- Riding instructors that are invited by agistees must have their own insurance, Bulban Lodge is not liable for any injuries caused to instructors;
- Riding instructors must sign a Bulban Lodge disclaimer;
- No cantering or galloping outside riding areas, walking or slow trot down lane ways is acceptable;
- Only one horse at a time to be ridden in sand riding arena.
Horse Welfare
It is the responsibility of the agistee to insure that their horse's welfare is maintained in accordance with the Code of accepted practice for welfare of horses. The Code of practice is intended to provide an outline of principles of husbandry and management that most affect the welfare of horses.
- Readily accessible food and water to maintain health and vigor;
- Freedom of movement to stand, stretch and lie down;
- Regular exercise;
- Social contact with other horses and people;
- Protection from disease, and regular inspections to assess the need for attention to feet, teeth and parasite control;
- Rapid identification and treatment of lice, injury and disease;
- Paddocks are kept clean;
- Regularly warmed (every 8 weeks recommended) and vaccinated (yearly).
The owners of Bulban Lodge are not liable for any injuries your horse may sustain well agisted on Bulban Lodge.
Facilities
Facilities must be looked after by agistees, if you fail to comply with the below conditions you may be ask not to use the facilities.
- Lunging rings must be raked after use;
- Horse droppings must be picked up from lunging rings, riding arena, lane ways and stable breeze way;
- Any damage to facilities must be reported immediately;
- No rubbish is to be left on property, all rubbish must be taken with you;
- Sand arena must not be used for lunging, only to be used for riding.
Payment
All agistment is to be paid for in advance, i.e. if you are paying fortnightly than you need to pay 2 weeks in advance, if you are paying monthly than you will need to pay a month in advance etc. The options of payment are: Fortnightly, every 4 weeks or monthly on the first Sunday after the 15th day of the month. Invoices are distributed 1 week prior to agistment due, with payment required by the due date. Failure to pay your agistment will result in either one of the following:
- Friendly reminder that your agistment is overdue (24 hours over due);
- If Agistment is still not paid after reminder than a warning will be issued to either pay up or remove the horse off Bulban lodge;
- If after 2 weeks the agistment is not paid up and the horse is still on the property a Horse Agistment Lien will be issued. A Horse Agistment Lien is when the agistor takes legal position of the horse until payment is made. If no payment is made within 28 days from the date the lien is issued the agistor can sell the horse to recoup any agistment fees and other costs at a public auction or by public tender.
Other Conditions
- Gates must be closed at all times, please ensure that the gate you enter the property from is locked upon leaving;
- No smoking on property, do not leave cigarette butts on property;
- No horse with a wind sucking problem will be permitted on Bulban Lodge;
- No horse is to be left running around freely on Bulban Lodge outside of its paddock.
The owners and management of Bulban Lodge have the right to modify these rules and conditions at any time.
